This event is held as an acknowledgement for NAIDOC Week which officially was commemorated during the school holidays.

Lantern Making

As part of the Chinese Student Group’s time at Maharishi School, they are offering up to 30 of our students an opportunity after school this Thursday 19th July (3.30 – 4.30pm) to participate in a “Lantern-Making Class”. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students to work with the Chinese students and adult helpers to learn this craft.

Student places for this activity should be secured by contacting Suzi at our school office by this Wednesday to register your child’s participation. All students normally in After School Care on Thursdays will be expected to participate.

Lunch Orders

Students will have the opportunity this term to order their lunch each Wednesday, beginning this week. Please complete and return the form that was sent to you at the end of last term by Wednesday morning this week.

Boite Choir Rehearsal

All students in the Performance Choir must attend the following Combined-Schools Choir rehearsal. Parents will be required to drop off and pick up students from the rehearsal venue this Sunday!

Date:     Sunday 22nd July

Venue: Rosina Auditorium within the grounds of the stunning Abbotsford Convent, St Heliers Street, Abbotsford

Sexuality Education Program – Parent Information Afternoon

The school has planned for Interrelate to run a series of classes on Sexuality Education to complement the Victorian Health Curriculum at the school. As part of this curriculum initiative, we have arranged for a PARENT INFORMATION SESSION to be held on Monday 23rd July between 4.00pm – 5.00pm.

The One hour session is designed to give parents an opportunity to have a better understanding of some of the issues for schools in sexuality education and to find out more information about the class program in which your children will participate.

Steve Charisis – Principal

Homework Club

The Term 3 Program will begin next Monday 23rd July and run each Monday between 3.30 – 5.00pm. Please ensure your child’s form has been handed to the office by this Thursday.

Please note: The Photography Club has been removed from this term’s options. The few students who selected “Photography” will be placed in one of their other choices.

Library Update

This term we have two exciting events coming our way in August.

Book Week runs 18-24 August 2018 and we will be holding a special book day on Monday 20th August. On this day students can come dressed as their favourite book character. There will be a whole school parade to start the day and special activities during library lessons.

We will also be holding a Scholastic Book Fair from Monday 13th August to Friday 24th August. During this time we will have a variety of books on display and available for purchase in the library. The book fair has been a huge success in previous years and it looks to be fantastic again this year! There will be some competitions beforehand with the prizes being vouchers to spend at the book fair. More details to follow soon. I would really appreciate some parent help in setting up and running the book fair. If you think you might some time to help out, please either see me before or after school Monday or Tuesday, or send me an email at

All parents are welcome and invited to help out.
